NovAtel SPAN CPT7 and CPT7700
Integrated GNSS/INS Solutions in a Single Enclosure
NovAtel’s SPAN CPT7 family delivers centimetre-level GNSS/INS positioning, velocity, and attitude in an ultra-compact, lightweight package. Powered by OEM7 technology with a high-performance Honeywell HG4930 MEMS IMU deeply coupled to the GNSS engine, these receivers provide continuous navigation even in the most challenging GNSS environments.
The family includes two variants, each designed for a different integration requirement.
CPT7: Dual-Antenna GNSS/INS
The CPT7 combines a dual-antenna OEM7720 receiver with the Honeywell HG4930 IMU in a single enclosure. The dual-antenna configuration provides GNSS-based heading via NovAtel’s ALIGN technology, enabling rapid INS alignment and long-term heading stability without external aiding.
Choose the CPT7 when you need:
- GNSS-derived heading in addition to IMU-based attitude
- Faster initial alignment, especially on stationary platforms
- Full roll, pitch, and heading from a single self-contained unit
CPT7700: Single-Antenna MCMF GNSS/INS
The CPT7700 combines an OEM7700 single-antenna GNSS receiver with the same Honeywell HG4930 IMU. While it uses one antenna instead of two, the CPT7700 tracks additional signals beyond the CPT7, including Galileo E6, BeiDou B3I, and QZSS L6, making it a true multi-constellation, multi-frequency (MCMF) solution.
Choose the CPT7700 when you need:
- Maximum GNSS signal coverage across all constellations and frequencies
- A simpler single-antenna installation on platforms where mounting two antennas is impractical
- Heading derived from the IMU during motion (no second antenna required once aligned)
Common Features Across Both Models
- Ultra-compact and lightweight single-enclosure design
- High-performance Honeywell HG4930 MEMS IMU
- Deeply coupled GNSS/INS for continuous positioning through GNSS outages (urban canyons, tunnels, foliage, temporary jamming)
- 16 GB onboard memory for data logging
- LED status indicators and wheel sensor input
- Multiple communication interfaces for easy integration
- Low power consumption
- TerraStar correction service support for centimetre-level accuracy without a base station
- Commercially exportable (non-ITAR)
